Constructed inside the premises of Banaras Hindu University, 'The New Vishwanath Temple' formerly known as 'The Birla Temple', is a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and inspired by the famous 'Kashi Vishwanath Temple'.
Built by the Birla Family and directed under the supervision of the founder of BHU Pt. Madan Mohan Malviya. Decorated with white marbles and verses from Hindu scriptures inscribed on the walls makes it an architectural excellence.
The complex of the temple consists of 7 other integrated temples on different floors. People from all over the world outside of any caste and religion are welcomed in the temple.
