Established in 1982 in the hills of Kaimur is the Kaimur Wildlife Sanctuary. Spread over 1784.73 square kms of land as of now. Surrounded with valleys and hills, provides habitat and constant water from river.
The sanctuary consists of different floras and faunas such as Leopards, Porcupines, Sloth Bear, etc. and various bird species such as Blue Pigeon Dove, White Tailed Eagle, etc. and Jamun, Teak, Koraiya, Saal, etc. of plant life.
